I stand before you today as a blind accessibility specialist, having faced many challenges and obstacles in my journey. Institutions and society have often viewed me as inferior, unworthy of the same opportunities and respect as my sighted peers. But I have not let their narrow-mindedness deter me from my mission.
Through sheer determination and hard work, I have proven time and time again that my blindness does not define me. I have overcome countless barriers and proved that I am just as capable as anyone else. I have fought for equal access and inclusion for all, refusing to let society’s prejudices hold me back.
Like Abraham Lincoln, I believe that all individuals, regardless of their race, gender, or disability status, are created equal. I have dedicated my life to advocating for the rights and dignity of people with disabilities, fighting to ensure that they are afforded the same opportunities and respect as anyone else.
Through my work as an accessibility specialist, I have seen firsthand the power of inclusion and accessibility. By breaking down barriers and creating more accessible environments, we are not only helping people with disabilities but also creating a more equitable and just society for all.
So I ask you, my fellow citizens, to join me in this fight for equal access and inclusion. Let us work together to tear down the walls that hold us back and create a society where all individuals can thrive. For as Abraham Lincoln once said, “the best way to predict your future is to create it.”
